48 x 40 GMA Grades

The grades, defined.

GMA stands for the Grocery Manufacturers Association — the organization that introduced the 48×40 wooden pallet as a uniform shipping platform for the grocery industry.

Today, the 48×40 GMA pallet is the most widely used pallet in North America. Its standardized footprint fits warehouse racking, conveyors, and trailer beds without wasted space, making it the default choice for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers across virtually every industry.
