How to Make Money Selling Used Wooden Pallets
Written by TC Pallet
Looking for a flexible way to bring in extra cash — something that could grow into a real business? Selling used wooden pallets may be the right fit.
Companies like TCP are always looking for entrepreneurs who can collect pallets from low-volume users — restaurants, convenience stores, small retailers — and bring them in for cash. Our trailers handle the big accounts, but roughly a third of the pallets we buy come from smaller businesses whose daily deliveries leave wood behind.
Getting Started
- Identify local businesses that receive deliveries on wood pallets.
- Offer to haul their used and broken pallets at no charge.
- Build a regular route so collection is efficient.
- Bring loads to a TCP yard — get paid on the spot.
- Reinvest in better equipment as your route grows.
Why It Works
Pallets are a renewable, recyclable resource with constant demand. Small businesses generate a steady supply but rarely have the time or trucks to move pallets themselves. Filling that gap is a real opportunity.
